Pass Plus helps Young Drivers save 30% on Car Insurance

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has designed a training course specifically aimed at new drivers called the Pass Plus.

The course builds upon existing skills and knowledge teaching new drivers to anticipate, plan and deal with all kinds of hazards. It helps young drivers become more confident on the roads. Applicants are eligible for the course when they obtain a full UK licence.

The Pass Plus is made up of 6 modules, usually involving one hour practical instruction per module. These modules include:

  • Driving in town
  • Driving in all weathers
  • Driving on rural roads
  • Driving at night
  • Driving on dual carriageways
  • Driving on motorways

The Cost

Fees for the Pass Plus will vary depending on the instructor or driving school you choose. Usually the course will take 6 hours unless further lessons are required.

The Saving

At Quentin L. Jones Insurance Services we are always checking which insurers are providing extra discounts. We are pleased to say that a new driver with a Pass Plus certificate can expect a 30% discount on their first insurance policy.

Many driving instructors are now offering this course to their customers. Further information on finding an instructor is available on the Pass Plus website at
